From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On Tuesday 6-10-08 at approximately 3:00 pm PDT time, mr. privacy data omitted, PIC and sole occupant, departed pangborn memorial airport (eat)in his amateur-built Glastar aircraft (N1935C), followed by a planned landing at nearby Hoverhawk Ranch private airstrip (WN17), 6NM sw of the departure point. According to the pilot's testimony, he flew a shallow final at 50-55 KTS and then 10 feet from landing added power and touched down firmly in a full stall, yawed to the right, and bounced. He then over-corrected with left rudder, and bounced right again. He pulled the throttle to idle and the mixture to cutoff, headed left towards the turnaround area and impacted a rock pile near the end of the runway, where upon the aircrafts right landing gear impacted a large rock and separated from the aircraft. The aircraft spun 90 degrees to the right before coming to a full stop. There were no known witnesses present at the time of the accident and no reported pre or post crash fire involved.
