From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) N280C was on the first flight after a prepurchase inspection had been done by maintenance. The pilot stated that they were at FL280 returning to lnk, when ATC cleared them to descend. At FL180 the aircraft was cleared to 11,000 feet. They had throttled back at FL280 and just continued the descent. At 11,000 feet they leveled off and advanced the power levers, the nr 2 engine did not respond. The engine had quit during descent with no indications of power failure. The crew performed an emergnecy airstart and landed without problems. No further problems were noted on the trip to California. The aicraft was again check by maintenance, with no reason for the power loss found. The cause of the power loss was not determined.
