From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft departed kgrr airport and the pilot and passenger heard a loud bang as the gear was retracted. The pilot noticed the nose gear was dangling at a 45 degree angle. The pilot notified the tower and flew a low approach. It was confirmed that the nose gear was unsafe and they landed on 26R with the mains down. The aircraft touched down and the pilot shut down the engines as the nose came in contact with the pavement. The plane skid to a stop as they were met by the crash and fire rescue personnel.
