From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Occured during "touch and go" practice. Visited the recovered aircraft, reviewed, maintenance records and took pictures. Pilot was interviewed and his logbook was reviewed. Pilot stated he had a "check ride" scheduled later that afternoon and was practicing in preparation. After several "full stop" landings at one landing site, he flew to another practice site and did a "down wind inspection" prior to the landing attempt. During the landing, his gear was snagged in the very tall grass and the aircraft flipped over. A passing helichopter assisted in flipping the aircraft back over onto its gear. A ferry permit was issued on 7-07-2008, inspector kathman recommended a 44709 reexamination be performed on the pilot by an operations inspector.
