From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft was fueled at lantana airport at approximately 1230 on July 22, 2008. After having 10 gallons added to each wing tip pilot, privacy data omitted, started engines and taxied out to takeoff. He took off at approximately 1245-1250, heading east. He flew with gear down and locked due to a previous landing gear failure. He was hoping to get someone at pompano to work on the landing gear issue. After reaching the Ocean he turned south following the coast enroute to his scheduled destination in pompano, FL. Just prior to right after turning south privacy data omitted states that he started experiencing a loss of power. He identified it as a problem with his right engine. He continued his flight along the intercoastal waterway as he tried to find a place to bring the aircraft to the ground. He turned east losing altitude and impacted the Ocean Ridge city hall building that is under construction at approximately 1255. After hitting the facade of the building he flipped over and the aircraft wrapped around a concrete power pole severing the lines cutting power to the surrounding area. Pilot was extracted from the aircraft by boyton beach fire and rescue and zuccallas salvage removed the wreckage to their salvage yard.
