What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Aircraft departed dulles "iad" airport, enroute to Reading mun airport "rdg". During retraction of the landing gear after takeoff, the pilot stated that the rudder pedals vibrated along with a loud bang. Then nose landing gear red "in-transit" light remained on for the remainder of the flight. The pilot reported that the aircraft handled and taxied normal prior to takeoff at "iad". On approach to "rdg" the pilot extended the landing gear, the main ger locked down, but the nose gear did not indicate a "down and locked" green light. A fly-by over the field showed the nose gear doors partially open with the nose gear stuck in the wheel well. The pilot used the emergency gear extension, with no results. Pilot landed the aircraft with the nose gear up, after he shut down the engine. Prop contacted the runway during the roll-out with minimum damage to the aircraft.
