From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On 09/19/2008, about 09:30 the pilot used the aircraft's tow bar to move the aircraft. The tow bar was left attached to the aircraft during the flight from benton, KS, lloyd stearman field, (1K1) to Tulsa International Airport (tul), and landed on runway 18R at about 10:45. Upon landing, the tow bar came loose and impacted the propeller causing damage to the propeller. The pilot taxied the aircraft to the parking area of tulsair Beechcraft, inc, and parked the aircraft. About 14:00 the pilot returned and found the propeller damage during a preflight inspection. The tow bar was found when one of the officers investigated reports of debris on runway 18R. At about 17:45, 09/19/2008, part of the bar was found near the south end of the 1000 foot marker. The remainder of the tow bar was found about 1000 feet further north on runway 18R. The officer, privacy data omitted, conducted a diligent investigation and was able to find the aircraft. The determined that the tow bar had caused the damage to the propeller at the time of the landing.
