From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On September 24, 2008, at 1805 EDT, a Piper PA-28R-201, N3986M, registered to delta connection academy inc., experienced a gear-up landing upon landing at Craig field, Jacksonville, Florida while on a part 141 training flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time and an IFR flight plan was filed. The aircraft sustained minor damage and the student and instructor were not injured. The flight originated at Jacksonville, Florida on September 24, 2008 at 1645 hours. The student was performing an emergency approach and landing procedure. The student and instructor reported that, as a result of local traffic, ATC directed the aircraft to fly a non-standard traffic pattern. The student and instructor reported that they did not hear the unsafe gear indication warning until after the aircraft had come to rest on the runway. The aircraft was equipped with an auxiliary gear warning horn that was found to be intermittent after the aircraft was recovered from the runway and the gear system was functionally tested. The standard gear unsafe indications were found to be operational.
