From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On takeoff roll privacy data omitted checked his parachute for proper inflation and that it was centered above the fuselage. privacy data omitted Noticed the right end of the chute was not fully inflated but continued with the takeoff. At lift off, the aircraft flew approximately 50 yards, contacted the ground again and then went airborne. The aircraft continued to climb until the right wheel of the aircraft contacted powerlines. The aircraft snapped the wire and began to oscillate under the canopy as privacy data omitted fought to control the aircraft. The aircraft continued forward where the chute made contact with a second set of power lines throwing the aircraft into trees. The aircraft contacted the trees approximately 10 ft above the ground and slid down to the ground, landing on the left side of the aircraft causing substantial damage to the aircraft. There was no post accident fire and privacy data omitted was not injured and refused medical attention.
