From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot landed short of runway 35 non-standard displaced threshold and impacted the ground six feet before runway pavement begins. Pilot then applied power due to hard landing. During ground impact the left and right main landing gear brake fittings were broken off. During subsequent braking applications, the pilot lost all brake fluid and operational control of the aircraft. Aircraft traveled approximately three fourths of runwy 35/17 (2,566 foot) distance before departing the active runway. The aircraft then exited the left side of the runway, traveled through a grass area, across a taxiway, through another grass area and through a vinyl fence, down a grass slope, across the airport access road, and came to rest in a stand of pine trees. A safety recommendation will be submitted regarding items identified in block 43.
