From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot and 2 passengers departed kdvt at 0900 MST en route to a remote location located at N32.59.30 W111.20.46. The pilot said when he made his base turn he experienced an enormous change in wind speed in the tail wind component. The pilot said he lost tail rotor authority. He said the horizontal component of wind changed to a vertical component which caused a vertical descent. The pilot said he added full power and the helicopter continued to descend. The pilots states at 25 feet the aircraft began to respond to tail rotor commands and he was able to straighten the descent path. The pilot states they had a very hard landing. The pilot said the aircraft came into contract with the ground in a level attitude. The pilot states that after contact with the ground the aircraft rolled to the right. The pilot and passengers exited the aircraft without injuries.
