From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) North Florida FSDO inspectors responded to a report of a damaged propeller on a Cessna 152 based at kissimmee gateway airport (ism). The pilot who had last flown the airacraft was interviewed about his flight to determine when and how the damage was sustained. The pilot, who held a private pilot certificate, had been on a night cross-country flight in order to build hours towards his commecial and instrument rating. He seemed to be unaware of having had a prop strike, but did admit to having inadvertently departed the paved surface of the taxiway onto what he described as a grass when attempting to enter a poorly-lit ramp area at Leesburg International Airport (lee) during an unplanned weather diversion on the return leg of his cross-country trip. He stated that he shut the aircraft down and got out to investigate his surroundings before continuing on his way to kissimmee. The damage to the propeller tips was very minor, comparable in appearance to filing about 1/3 of an inch evenly off each tip.

As the FAA filed it
