From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Kitfox N427ET flown by privacy data omitted was in the touch and go pattern at geu when he experienced an airspeed indicator failure and requested a landing clearance. He was cleared to land on runway 19 and exited on taxiway A6 clearing the hold short marks when he collided with Taylorcraft N27639, piloted by privacy data omitted. The Taylorcraft N27639 had been given clearance to taxi to runway 19 and was just joining the centerline of taxiway a when the collision occurred. privacy data omitted Was flying in the right seat of the Kitfox and privacy data omitted was in the left seat of the Taylorcraft. Both aircraft were conventional gear and approaching each other from the worst possible direction to see and avoid. The Kitfox pilot reported seeing the taylorcrafts wingtip just prior to the collision, shutting off his engine and breaking heavily. Both aircraft suffered propeller damage, N427ET suffered additional damage to spinner, cowling and a leading edge fence near the left wingtip was broken off. The Taylorcraft suffered substantial damage to the right wing lift struts and right wing. (-23 amendment)ATC recordings confirm that privacy data omitted the pilot of Kitfox N427ET reported his airspeed indicator problems to the geu tower and received a landing clearance and no further instructions. In the absence of further instructions N427ET'S landing clearance included taxiing clear of the runway and positioning the entire aircraft past the hold short lines as per aim 43-3-20. An ATC clearance does not relieve the pilot of the responsibility to "see and avoid".

As the FAA filed it

KITFOX N427ET FLOWN BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS IN THE TOUCH AND GO PATTERN AT GEU WHEN HE EXPERIENCED AN AIRSPEED INDICATOR FAILURE AND REQUESTED A LANDING CLEARANCE. THE TAYLORCRAFT N27639 HAD BEEN GIVEN CLEARANCE TO TAXI TO RUNWAY 19 AND WAS JUST JOINING THE CENTERLINE OF TAXIWAY A WHEN THE COLLISION OCCURRED. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS FLYING IN THE RIGHT SEAT OF THE KITFOX AND ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS IN THE LEFT SEAT OF THE TAYLORCRAFT. (-23 AMENDMENT)ATC RECORDINGS CONFIRM THAT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ THE PILOT OF KITFOX N427ET REPORTED HIS AIRSPEED INDICATOR PROBLEMS TO THE GEU TOWER AND RECEIVED A LANDING CLEARANCE AND NO FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.
