From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot departed runway 5 climbed to 600 feet turned to crosswind when lost power. Turned downwind to runway 23, aircraft on short final for 5, landed on the taxiway and north parking ramp, went into drainage ditch, propeller hit the edge of the ditch and nose gear collapsed. The engine was run and started with no problem. At idle, all the pressures and temps were normal. Ran up the power to about 50 percent. Again, all temps and pressures were within limits.
