From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

This incident began at cruise flight configuration enroute from ardmore, Oklahoma to dallas, Texas. The IO-550-B engine on this Beech A36 is turbo-normalized. The top of # 5 cylinder split and came off of the engine. The pilot and his wife made an emergency landing at Gainesville Municipal Airport, (gle) gainsville, Texas. The pilot was certain that the eci cylinder that blew was not one affected by an airworthiness directive (AD). The cylinder in question is therefor presumed to be not applicable by the AD. Further investigation will determine applicability or non-applicability of this AD for positive proof. A malfunction defect report is currently pending on this cylinder. This report is closed.
