From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On Monday 11/10/2008 at approximately 1327 MST an L-13A, N128LG, piloted by privacy data omitted, departed the runway at approximate mid-field position during the landing and subsequent landing rollout. The pilot, having a tailwheel endorsement, was relatively new to this particular aircraft as it was recently sold to him. The pilot was unfamiliar with ktus airport and accepted the landing clearance for runway 11R, even though the tail wind was roughly 8 knots. During the landing roll out the airman states he felt a tailwind gust at approximately that same time the rudder effectiveness diminished. The wind gust forced the aircraft to prematurely turn and exit the runway a short distance. The pilot maintained control and stopped the aircraft without any damage to the aircraft or airport environment.

As the FAA filed it

(-23) ON MONDAY 11/10/2008 AT APPROXIMATELY 1327 MST AN L-13A, N128LG, PILOTED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, DEPARTED THE RUNWAY AT APPROXIMATE MID-FIELD POSITION DURING THE LANDING AND SUBSEQUENT LANDING ROLLOUT.
