From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Student pilot privacy data omitted, a nigerian citizen, was training for his private pilot's license with mcair aviation, based at rocky mountain metro airport, coc, (bjc). He was on a solo cross-country flight from bjc to for morgan (fmm) airport, CO. The flight was planned to go north over gll VOR and then to fmm to avoid the denver class b airspace. When approaching fmm, pilot obtained landing weather from the fmm AWOS and found the crosswind to be out of his limits. So he decided to return to bjc, and instead of retracing his course, he proceded direct to bjc using his GPS, which took him through the class b airspace. When he saw denver airport, he became disoriented and as he proceeded west, he became lost and confused. He saw a big runway - Buckley Afb (bkf) and landed there without talking to any ground agency on the radio. His instructor, privacy data omitted, was notified, drove over to bkf and returned the aircraft to bjc.
