From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On December 14, 2008 at approximately 1500 hrs local at Jasper, AL (kjfx) a check ride was being conducted for a private multi-engine rating. The PIC completed a simulated single engine landing and was more than 1000 feet down the runway for a two engine takeoff. The aircraft accelerated to 75-80 KIAS, the nose wheel lifted off the ground and the PIC attempted to lift the gear handle up before the main gear left the ground. The check airman in the right seat stopped the PIC from raising the gear. The PIC rolled the yoke to his right and pushed it forward causing the aircraft to bounce off the runway. The aircraft attitude was right wing low and the right propeller struck the runway numerous times before the blades shattered and went through the fuselage. The check airman gained control of the aircraft and rolled the yoke to his left and pulled it back. The aircraft struck the runway with the left propeller and became airborne. The check airman flew the aircraft around the airport and immediately landed.

As the FAA filed it
