From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot in command (PIC) was the pilot not flying in the right seat. The type rated second in command was the pilot flying from the left seat. Both pilots stated tht the approach (ILS 9 arr) was normal until just before touchdown when the aircraft started drifting to the right. The PIC called out to correct to the left. The pilot flying overcorrected, the aircraft touched down in a skid to the left, the left wing tip contacted a snow bank at the edge of the runway. The nosewheel then turned ninety degrees to the right, the aircraft crossed the runway to the opposite side coming to rest with the nose sitting in moderately deep snow, with the tail remaining over the runway pavement. PIC stated that the yaw damper was engaged during landing. (Yaw damper engagement is optional according to the AFM). There were no injuries. Freezing fog was reported at karr from 0209 CST to 0217 CST.

As the FAA filed it
