From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) This was to be the a photo shoot for remos aircraft involving two aircraft. Both aircraft involving two aircraft. Both aircraft had their left wings folded the previous night and the pilots assisted each other with unfolding the wings for flight as is their normal routine. Both aircraft departed from intersection A3 on runway 18 with N9GX the first aircraft. The pilot of the second aircraft observed 9GX take off and enter a hard right bank immediately after lift off. The aircraft climbed to approximately 100 ft while continuing the right turn making a 270 degree turn from the runway heading and descended striking the ground right wing first in approximately an 85 degree right bank. The aircraft was destroyed on impact. Examination of the wreckage indicates the left aileron quick disconnect was not connected.
