From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N403TB was conducting a charter from tapa to kilm when they noticed smoke coming from the cargo compartment. They diverted to and landed at Providenciales airport (mbpv) turks and caicos islands. Investigation of the source found that the compressor motor for the water compressor system failed, which opened the circuit breaker. The failure of the motor was the source of the smoke. The water compressor system was deffered by MEL and the aircraft was flown to kpbi for replacement of the water compressor motor unit. The company filed a malfunction/defect report for cef industries, inc. part number 7047M3, s/n 107386.
