From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On March 20, 2009 privacy data omitted was conducting a personal flight in N451S at his home airport of Mississippi County Airport (kchq). Upon making his final landing and taxiing to the end of the runway to secure the airplane, privacy data omitted stated he inadvertently pulled the landing gear handle instead of the flap selector lever to retract the flaps. Upon moving the landing gear handle the nose gear collapsed. I observed damage to the underside cowling of the aircraft to include the skin surface area of the underside of the aircraft, damage to the propeller indicating a low power setting when it struck the surface, and surface scratched on the nosewheel landing gear components.
