From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft with two passengers departed from the pilot's yard. The pilot lost control of the aircraft, went through a neighbor's fence and crashed into the neighbor's garage. Phone messages have been left with the pilot's wife of 4/14/2009 and on voicemail on 5/5/2009. No response from the pilot. Item 13, total airframe hours; item 29; item 31; hours make and model, hours last 90 days and total hours not available. As more information becomes available, an amended 8020-23 may be completed. Amended -23, in pilot statements to the NTSB, the pilot stated he took off with "inadequate lift on a short runway". The pilot said he experienced an "inability to climb".
