From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) N941SW, CL-600-B2, operated by skywest airlines as united express flight 6038, departed lnk and then returned due to a pressurization problem. The crew stated that the left pack high pressure message came on just after takeoff, then the right pack failed, and the load control valve would not open. The crew was able to get the right pack re-established in flight, but elected to return to lnk. On the ground the crew found that the APU load control valve operated normally and that the right pack also worked. The crew deferred the left pack by MEL, per maintenance control instructions. After receiving more fuel, the aircraft departed lnk, for ord. After the plane landed at ord the right pack fail maintenance light came on. Maintenance replaced the right pressure regulation shutoff valve (prsov), and then took the prsov that came off the right side and replaced the filter in it, and installed it on the left side.

As the FAA filed it

THE CREW WAS ABLE TO GET THE RIGHT PACK RE-ESTABLISHED IN FLIGHT,BUT ELECTED TO RETURN TO LNK.
