What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) The pilot was taking N67YX an experimental aircraft for its first flight after he completed building it. About two minutes into the flight the engine started to run rough. The condition continued to worsen. The pilot then headed for Chehalis-Centralia Airport (cls). As he approached the airport the engine almost quit then started to surge. After touching down the pilot saw an aircraft about 2/3 of the way down the runway. Then with the engine still surging he initiated a go around. On the second landing attempt the pilot stated he landed too fast causing the aircraft to bounce and go into a pilot induced oscillation. On the third bounce the right main landing gear bent aft causing the aircraft to nose over and slide to a stop. A fire started and was put out by the Washington state patrol.
