From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) N5748P landed with the landing gear retracted on runway 17 at phk. Marks on the runway indicated that the bottom of the aircraft's fuselage made the initial contact with the runway approximately 1200 feet beyond the runway threshold. The aircraft then bounced and continued airborne for an additional 51 feet. The aircraft made second contact with the runway and skidded on the bottom of fuselage, stopping 556 feet from initial point of contact. Prop strikes began at 263 feet from initial point of contact and continued for 271 feet. Approximately 4 inches are ground off of each prop blade tip and curled forward indicating engine power was applied. The PIC stated that he had selected the gear down just prior to turning base, but failed to confirm that he had a "gear down" indication. The PIC stated that as the aircraft was raised (post incident), the landing gear came down completely and had a steady green "gear down" indication.
