From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The aircraft had been flown to wheeling, WV to have some interior work done and to be painted at a paint and interior facility, Ohio valley aviation. Upon departure from wheeling for bjj, the landing gear did not initially indicate up, then after cycling, did indicate up. The tower reported the gear appeared to be up. Upon arriving at Wooster, the landing gear did not indicate down. Another pilot reported the gear to be down. The pilot porpoised the aircraft to get the gear to indicate down. It did not. Upon touchdown, the main gear collapsed, and the aircraft settled on it's prop, and both wing tips. The tow truck lifted the aircraft and then the gear locked into place. Upon inspection by the airworthiness inspector, he discovered some damage to the landing gear apparently caused by the interior work done at the facility. The facility did not drop check the landing gear to ascertain that it was functioning normally after the work had been done on the aircraft.

As the FAA filed it
