From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot of N67PT, an experimental amateur built Epic lt, was operating the aircraft within the traffic pattern of Brainard airport (khfd) to maintain night currency. After approximately 3 traffic patterns the pilot departed runway 20 and entered left traffic. The pilot failed to properly lower the landing gear prior to contacting the runway surface. At the scene the landing gear handle was observed to be in the down position with the landing gear partially extended. The propeller and fuselage contacted runway 20 with the aircraft coming to rest west of the runway, approximately 180 degrees from runway 20.
