From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Metro airport received a lot of rain from a thunderstorm just prior to N549PA landing on runway 29L. After touchdown, the aircraft began to hydroplane. With no brake effectiveness, the crew deployed the aircraft's parachute. The airplane continued to hydroplane, and the crosswind pushed the aircraft off the right side of the runway into the grass. The crew eventually regained control of the aircraft, and brought the aircraft to a stop on a taxiway. The aircraft sustained minor damage to the tires and landing gear.

As the FAA filed it
