From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On June 6th, 2009 at approximately 2030Z privacy data omitted piloted N68MP at a glider competition in parown, UT. The glider had a self contained engine that was ot operating correctly, so the pilot operated to store it and be towed into the air. The tow into the air was uneventful until the glider released 200 feet before the agreed altitude. The tow pilot was searching for the glider above the tow aircraft, finally seeing the glider below in a left turn and in a series of stall and nose down recoveries the tow aircraft continued to circle the glider attempting to establish communications as the glider impacted the ground, destroying the aircraft.
