From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On June 29, 2009 the pilot was performing touch and go's at the Emporia airport. On the third take off the engine stopped making power. With limited power and with attempts to avoid the highway, a golf course, trees, and power lines, the pilot was able to land the aircraft just north of the airport runway. The main landing gear collapsed after landing and the prop then struck the ground with the engine running. Cause of the gear collapse was due to the surface not being level and the left gear first touched on a terrace. The aircraft was released to the owner and moved into a hangar on the airport. With this report ICE0720090038 is considered closed.
