From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) privacy data omitted, right seat, is a CFI and was acting as PIC on IFR departure from kpdk. He was conducting a flight review for privacy data omitted, who is not instrument rated, who was in the left seat. There was a passenger, privacy data omitted, in the back seat. Enroute to kwdr the PIC cancelled IFR with ATC and proceded to kwdr VFR with privacy data omitted manipulating the controls. privacy data omitted Was practicing a simulated forced landing, left traffic on rwy 05 at kwdr under the guidance of privacy data omitted. According toprivacy data omitted statement, due to minimum downwind spacing and a short base leg, the aircraft overshot the final approach. While advancing the power to initiate a go-around, the aircraft struck the ground to the left of the runway. This is supported by a witness statement from privacy data omitted. All three landing gear assemblies were sheered off. In addition, there appeared to be substantial damage to the engine cowling, the propeller, the underside of the aircraft, to the right wing, the right wing spar, right flap assembly and to the rudder. There was minor skin damage near the ballistic parachute discharge area on top of the fuselage, possibly indicating internal frame damage.
