From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During cruise flight pilot noted an altitude loss and determined that she was experiencing a loss of engine power. Autorotative approach to a field was executed resulting in a hard landing. Preliminary post accident examination of aircraft did not reveal a causal factor. Further testing of engine performance planned by manufacturer. On 10-19-2009 ammended this report due receipt of engine test results indicating proper engine performance. A 44709 reexamination of the subject airman is planned due to failure to properly manage altitude and engine power.
