From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During a prematurely initiated vehicle towed glider launch wherein the vehicle driver misunderstood signals, while the flight instructor was still in the process of getting ready to launch, the aircraft became airborne. During the excitement of the moment, the low-time student pilot over-controlled and the glider struck the runway causing damage to aircraft. The student pilot was transported to the hospital for observation and treatment of a back strain. The glider suffered some structural damage which was subsequently repaired by rainbow flying service in moses lake, WA.
