From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Takeoff roll was initiated at the north end of a 600' mowed grass area, north of and attached to 9IN6, with one passenger. Temperature was approximately 80 deg f and slight westerly wind. N19226 lifted off the ground within the first 300' of the 600' of grass area and began drifting toward a large tree just to the left (EAST0SIDE of the south end of the grass area and at the north end of 9IN6. The pilot made a hard bank to right to avoid the tree and then banked to left passing tree to avoid corn stalks and irrigation device (approximately 15-18 high). During the turn to the left (east), the left wing contacted power lines just to the west side of tow path rd, and then descened while rotating to left (counter clockswise from looking towards ground). Aircraft made a hard flat impact on ground in a bean field east of 9IN6, facing south. Fire began shortly after touchdown from engine compartment. This acount is verified by privacy data omitted (eye witness). Pilot and passenger were able to evacuate aircraft before aircraft was engulfed in flames. Aircraft was completely destroyed by fire. Passenger received some bruises and pilot received five stiches under chin and was released from hospital that evening.
