From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On Wednesday, August 12, 2009, around 10:00 CDT, aircraft departed jefferson city, Missouri (jef) enroute to joplin, Missouri (jln). Pilot stated "on climb out at approximately 1500 feet a mild loss of power was experienced." While in cruise flight, after reaching his assigned altitude of 6000 feet, a slower than normal cruise operating speed was noted. An attempt to "adjust power to the plane" to increase aircraft speed was unsuccessful. Shortly thereafter, the pilot noticed a decreased fuel flow and decided to return to jef. However, "power continued to decrease (SIC)" and a decision by the pilot was made not to attempt to return to jef, but instead to land at the nearest airport. Pilot declared an emergency and landed on runway 32 at Grand glaze airport (K15), in Osage Beach, Missouri. Other than accumulating several leaves in the inboard landing gear doors (from trees located on airport approach to runway 32), the aircraft landed without incident. Incident # ICE052009022 is closed.

As the FAA filed it
