From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft, N214EX an Extra 300, was arriving on runway 1 at N14 after a VFR flight from lwm. The pilot stated that during the flare the aircraft ballooned slightly and he eased off a bit, upon flaring again the tail wheel touched down followed by the main wheels. The left undercarriage immediately collapsed and the propeller and left wing struck the ground. The aircraft rolled to the left across the grass median and across the parallel taxiway. The aircraft came to rest in the parking area. The pilot and one pilot rated passenger were not injured. Pilot rated eyewitness reported a high flare (nose 8 - 10 feet off of the ground) followed by a hard landing and subsequent gear collapse.
