From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) N4837T departed windover, UT on the 26th of August 2009 with the pilot and two passengers. The aircraft departed and climbed normally, when there was no runway remaining the pilot selected the gear handle to the up position, the nose and the right main retracted but the left main showed it was not. The pilot cycled the gear and the gear circuit breaker popped and was reset. This is when the pilot noticed that the aircrft was loosing power and lowered the nose to a level pitch attitude, the aircraft was slowing from 100 knots to 60 knots, the pilot then attempted to cycle the gear three more times. The pilot maneuvered the aircraft over interstate 80, while attempting to land the left wing settled onto the trailer of a simi-truck, when the driver realized the aircraft contacted the trailer he slowed causing the aircraft to yaw to the left when the propeller began slicing through the trailer, when the propeller impacted the bed of the trailer it caused the aircraft to yew back to the right as the right main gear touched the highway and the nose wheel rested on the ground, the left main collapsed and the aircraft spun around 180 degrees facing oncoming traffic. All passengers and pilot exited the aircraft uninjured.
