From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated that he was practicing an engine out landing on runway no. 32 at Riverview Airport in Jenison, MI. On downwind he reduced throttle to idle and began a descent to landing. As the aircraft turned final and approached the runway, the pilot stated that he was slightly low on altitude and had a slightly slower airspeed than desired. In responce, the pilot stated that he added power to increase airspeed and extend the glide distance but that the amount of power added was insufficient and the aircraft began to enter a stall at approximately 30 feet above the ground and experienced a suden loss of altitude, with the aircraft left wing tip striking the ground, resulting in the aircraft nosing over and coming to rest upside down on the grass alongside of runway 32.the only witness to the approach and accident was the passenger privacy data omitted privacy data omitted during a telephone interview stated that privacy data omitted reduced power to practice an engine out approach and landing and that during the final approach segment privacy data omitted added power to arrest the descent and after leveling off the aircraft shook and the left wing tip dropped and contacted the ground and then the aircraft flipped over on it's top side after the nose of the aircraft contacted the ground. This account of the accident is the same as the pilot privacy data omitted gave on 8-27-09 when interviewed by the iic inspector elliott. The pilot and passenger recieved minor injuries and were able to extricate themselves from the aircraft without assistance.
