From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

The student's flight instructor initially conducted a dual flight with Mr. Garcia and after 2 successful landings on this day he endorsed his student for solo flight. Mr. Garcia made said on his first circuit around the pattern he recognized that he was too high while on final approach and he decided to execute a go around. On the second circuit Mr. Garcia said he made an uneventful landing. Mr. Garcia said on his third attempt he made a normal takeoff and made a normal pattern; however once on final he noticed he was slightly left of the centerline. Mr. Garcia said he made a normal touchdown slightly left of the centerline at which time he began to make a correction towards the centerline. Mr. Garcia said he applied right rudder and he thinks he inadvertently applied right brake pressure. Mr. Garcia said the aircraft began a sharp right turn and the right main tire came off of the ground. Mr. Garcia said he turned the yoke in the direction of the turn and relieved brake pressure. Mr. Garcia exited the runway into the dirt/grass area and then crossed intersection charlie 5 and came to rest in the dirt/grass area just passed taxiway charlie.
