From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Upon landing at San Carlos Airport pilot of N2UY mr. Carlos chang koo stated he had correct landing gear indications at touchdown, he stated that he experienced difficulty maintaining lateral control as he applied brakes and rudder input to try to stay on the runway. As the right landing gear collapsed the aircraft skidded on the external pontoon tank and veered to the right. His corrective actions brought the aircraft back toward the center line of the runway and the aircraft came to a stop near the centerline of the runway facing approximately 190 degrees from the original heading. Intitial inspection by this office was conducted on oct 5, 2009. Damage observed during initial onset investigation is as follows, right external wing tank separated from under wing attachment point and has a hole in bottom where it made contact with the runway. Right wing landing gear brake assembly has evidence of scraping the runway due to it being drug while gear was in a mid travel position. Center bottom fuselage has scrape marks and sports were aircraft skidded on the runway due to landing with right wing gear not being down and locked.
