From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On October 9, 2009 at approximately 1010 mountain daylight time, a single engine pitts special S-1, N59JT was substantially damaged when it hit a runway light and the propeller hit the ground. The pilot was practicing a full control stick forward procedure takeoff. When the tail of the aircraft lifted off the ground the aircraft immediately swerved to the left at a very high rate of speed. The aircraft hit a runway light and it damaged the left wing and spar. The pilot managed to straighten the aircraft and reduce the power to abort the takeoff. When he reduced the power the tail of the aircraft came up and the propeller slightly hit the ground.
