From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The student pilot was on his first solo following 2 practice takeoff and landings with CFI, brett zefting, 3164534CFI, shortly after noon. The student's plan and instructions were to depart rwy 30, stay in a left pattern at pattern altitude and land rwy 30. The student stated he executed a normal takeoff and entered a left pattern at pattern altitude, then executed a normal approach to rwy 30. He stated he lost energy a bit too high and came down fairly hard causing the aircraft to bounce on landing. Following the second or third bounce he opted for a go-around and executed a normal go-around entering a left pattern at pattern altitude, approach to rwy 30 and a normal landing. He taxied to the ramp and shut down the aircraft engine. This is when he and the observing CFI noticed that the propeller had struck the runway during the initial landing attempt. The observing CFI stated the aircraft did in fact bounce 3 times. The CFI for the 141 flight school, J38S, jetstream aviation inc., will administer further instruction.

As the FAA filed it
