From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On November 3, 2009 at 0750 EST, a lance air 235 N133TB registered to richard neal. Mr. Neal and flight instructor leighton pressley experienced a landing gear malfunction short of final. The flight was operated as a personal training flight under the provisions of 14 CFR part 91. VFR meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed for the flight. The flight originated at Monroe north carolina (eqy) at approximately 0750 local time. The intention of this flight was to receive high performance complex flight training. On the down wind phase of the landing the landing gear was felt and visually verified down by both crew members. On final another landing check was performed and both crew members verified three green lights for the landing gear. At less than 15' AGL the landing gear lights extinguished and before a go around could be initiated the aircraft contacted the ground. The aircraft slid down the runway approximately 100 yards center line of runway 5 coming to rest at intersection A-2. The aircraft sustained minimal damage to airframe. Examination of the engine found the propeller damaged due to striking the ground. The airplane has been secured for further examination.
