From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Mr. Bruce familian stated that he made a normal approach for landing on runway 15L at Santa Barbara, CA. He stated that he made a normal flare and touch down on the main gear. He said when the nosewheel touched down that the airplane immediately popped up then landed normally on the main gear a second time. When the nosewheel touched down the airplance popped up again harder, it then came down harder, popped up a third time, this time it came down on the nosewheel. The nosewheel collapsed, then the airplance slid to the left side of the runway and came to a stop. Mr. Familian said that he did not feel anything unusual in the flight controls or in their response. Weather was not a factor. There were no other outside distractions during the landing.
