What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On November 29, 2009 Mr. David r. Mahre was acting as pilot in command of N480DM, an experimental SA300 Starduster airplane. Witnesses at the bend field remote control aircraft airfield observed N480DM perform a low level high speed pass over the rc airstrip then begin a low level aileron roll to the left. The aircraft was unsuccessful in completing this low level roll attempt and crashed inverted into a vineyard within a quarter mile of the rc airfield. The pilot received serious injuries to include a compound fracture of the left leg, and head injuries. FAA records reveal that mr. Mahre did not possess a valid medical at the time of the accident. His medical was denied in 2005 for complications from parkinson's disease, but he continued to operate as a pilot anyway.
