From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 03/04/2010 the pilot, privacy data omitted, landed his aircraft, N9305T, at the Louisa County/Freeman Field Airport (klku). After landing, the pilot fueled his aircraft with 100LL aviation fuel at the self-serve fuel pump. The mechanic from the airport conversed with the pilot while he was fueling his aircraft. The mechanic noticed that the pilot was in a hurry, and that after fueling was complete, the pilot then got into his aircraft without sumping any of the aircraft fuel tanks and taxied to runway 27. The mechanic observed that the pilot did not perform a run-up check prior to takeoff. On the takeoff roll, the mechanic observed that one of the engines did not sound correct, the sound was rough and the engine sounded like it was not developing full power. The pilot continued the takeoff and subsequently crashed approximated 1/2 of a mile beyond the departure end of runway 27 and into the front yard of a house. The aircraft was heading roughly at a 250 degree heading on impact. The total amount of fuel that was dispersed from the airport fueling station was 148.7 gallons and the aircraft holds 155 gallons total.

As the FAA filed it

ON 03/04/2010 THE PILOT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, LANDED HIS AIRCRAFT, N9305T, AT THE LOUISA COUNTY/FREEMAN FIELD AIRPORT (KLKU).
