From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On April 15, 2010, inspection personnel from the alabama/northwest Florida flight standards district office, SO-09, investigated an aircraft incident, which occurred on March 30, 2010 involving a Bell 206B (TH-67) helicopter, registration number N67751, serial number 5202, at a high voltage transmission line crossing over the choctawhatchee river approximately four miles south of cairns army airfield (ozr) in daleville, Alabama. This investigation disclosed that the pilot was joy riding along the river bed which lead to impact with high voltage transmission wires and the subsequent falsification of maintenance records in an attempt to cover up that day's flight of N67751. privacy data omitted, privacy data omitted was identified as the pilot. privacy data omitted Was identified as the passenger. Both individuals were identified by their employer, army fleet support (afs), before inspectors from this office arrived on the scene. Both men were suspended from work pending the outcome of this investigation. Both men subsequently admitted their involvement in the incident and resigned their employment. Aircraft N67751 had an appareo flight tracking device installed which verified that N67751 was at the coordinates of the downed high voltage wires at the exact time that Alabama power's computers reported the loss of power. On April 21, 2010, privacy data omitted and privacy data omitted admitted their actions during an interview with FAA inspector rockie widner, privacy data omitted later provided the FAA with a written statement.
