From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Inspector arrived at 2005 local, N464PP was hanging from power line and engine was separated from aircraft. There was no evidence or odor of fuel. Once on ground, verified elevator, rudder and right wing aileron cable movement where they were severed at flight deck. No evidence of fuel leaking from wings or engine. Flaps were down but could not be sure of position. Found burn marks on right wing from power lines. Aircraft left side struck a tree approximately 20 to 25 feet from base of tree, shearing off instrument panel forward. Pilot fatally injured and passenger survived but in serious condition.
