From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft bounced on landing then came back down. The airman stated that he pushed forward on the yoke to stick the main gear on the runway and stop the aircraft from porpoising. As the tail settled down the rudder was found starved for air behind the fuselage, the wind gave it a push sideways before the tail wheel made contact. The airman stated that he felt the aircraft shift and gave full right rudder and brake. He stated that he was not able to overcome the force of the crosswind and the airplane veered over to the side of the runway where it looped around taking out a runway light damaging the aircraft wing tip and aileron.

As the FAA filed it
